Installation:

- To install Dark Frost, simply double-click on DarkFrostInst.exe which brings up an installation wizard. It will walk you through the rest of the process.

Controls:

- To quit the game at any time, press the Esc key.
- The space bar or the Enter keys may be used to cycle through text messages and screens.
- The arrow keys are used to move the player around the screen within the game.
- The D key will fire Noir's Death Frost attack.
- The F key will allow Noir to warp a short distance.

Assignment Requirements:

- Level designers were paired with an artist for this 2D game project. We had 3 months to create this game while also working on other course work at the Guildhall. This was the major project for our first term at the Guildhall. We were forced to use the Scrolling Game Development Kit to make our demo in order to get experience using an editor that is not very user friendly.

Game Story:

	It’s 1986 and the city of Duskhaven is terribly corrupt. There is crime around every corner, and even the police are dirty. However, amidst this immorality, a dark hero has risen. Her name is Noir, and she comes to rid Duskhaven of its depravity. As she was a victim of the enormity in Duskhaven herself, Noir feels compelled to do something for justice. And this time, she has the power to do it. Possessing superhuman powers she will slay the decadent Mayor Gandolfini and put an end to the evil in Duskhaven.

	In Dark Frost, you play as Noir, the dark hero set to destroy the evil in her home city, Duskhaven. Noir had worked as a detective in Duskhaven until the evil mayor, Giovanni Gandolfini, had her brutally murdered when he was not able to buy her loyalty as he did with the rest of the police force. Now Noir is back from the grave and poised to set things right. In her new risen form, she has the power to warp through time and space as well as blast her enemies with a taste of cold death. It is a mystery how Noir has come back from death to haunt the evil ones in Duskhaven, but it is believed to have something to do with justice and vengeance…

	Dark Frost is a 2D demo of a top-down adventure game featuring a deep story and exciting gameplay. In this demo the player will guide Noir through two levels against the corrupted police force of Duskhaven. The player will need to put Noir’s skills to good use in order to defeat the corrupt police force that litter the city and solve puzzles to gain rewards and progress through the game.
