Grimoire is a two-player spell-based fighting game in development for the Guildhall at SMU.  Fireballs and lightning bolts replace the traditional fighting game kicks and punches in this tournament of magic.

Grimoire

Following the advice of one of my professors, I distilled the design of Grimoire to a simple focus statement: "Casting spells is fun."  That sentence underpins every design decision in the game.  It also guides our visual style - characters and environments are appealing, but not as saturated or bright as magical effects.  This screen shot is pre-Alpha.
