  Description:

Iron Meg was a two-part endeavor by a team of myself, another level designer, and an artist.  I created the first part of the game, which finds the heroine in the local town's jail cell.  Players must escape the cell and town through a series of quests given by non-player characters.

The goal of this game was to create a game with Scrolling Game Development Kit that was not the usual side-scroller.  Instead, we created the top-down look of the Zelda series with the quest-style gameplay of past graphic adventures such as Monkey Island.  The challenges included creating the finite-state based logic of the quests, along with the final scripted encounter with a horde of enemy pirates.
