The main warehouse, this cold storage area plays as a front for the SinTEK Cryogenics Lab.  I tried to create a very cold feel with the blue lighting, the spotlights, and steam emitters.

  Description:

The level was a result of a joint project with the Guildhall and Ritual Entertainment.  With a team of six level designers, four artists, and one programmer, we were charged with creating multiple arena maps, as well as create a new deathmatch style of gameplay.  I chose to create an Arena Mode map modeled after a hidden SinTEK Cryogenics laboratory.  With a cold storage warehouse acting as a front, SinTEK delivers experiment "volunteers" to their labs in suspended animation.  Inside, they are kept in cold storage until needed for U4 injection.

I wanted to give the level a very cold feeling.  Because of this, I created a blue lighting scheme and white steam to create the feeling of cold air.  In some spots, I used bright lights to enforce the laboratory theme.  Working with the artists, I was able to not only receive original models, such as the cryogenic machine and the shipping units, but also create icy skins using existing textures.
